The Best Discount Fashion Sites
I love a bargain, and as a Personal Stylist I’ve learned which discount designer websites are the best.
Yes, there are brands that are always at a great price point like Zara and H&M - but there are also a few sites that I love because they carry several brands (many of them designer) at great prices. You can also search for specific items and then filter by size on many of these sites, making it easy to do a quick hunt.
Saks OFF 5th is one of my favorites because they have a “new this week” and a “designer spotlight” section. Searching is easy as well. Note - if you ever see a Saks off 5th brick and mortar store do not bother going in. It’s nothing like the web site!
WAYF floral key hold dress, Tommy Hilfiger button wide leg jeans, Layered Floral Lace Blouse
Nordstrom Rack is a long time favorite for designer bargains. Shopping in their brick & mortar store is good too, but it can be hit or miss and is often picked over. I feel like I have access to so much when I shop online, and you can return in store at either The Rack or Nordstrom.
Swarovski Crystal Studded Rings - Set of 3, Chloe Floral Pullover Sweater
I love these ring bands that look a little like Cartier and provide a mixed metal look. I want to start wearing more mixed metals and this feels like a great way to start. And this adorable Chloe sweater is a great price and perfect for Spring.
TJ Maxx surprised me. I never thought of TJ Maxx as having great quality clothing items. I used to shop in-store for my children’s clothes and maybe socks and essentials. I stumbled across their online store and was pleasantly surprised with some great finds! You can’t search by all designers names because of some contract with these designers being in a discount store (maybe they feel they are slumming it?) So, you have to click on “reveal designer” on some items. There is a link on the top bar called “The Runway” which will sort all the “designer brands” so that’s a cheat around their terrible search feature. Try that and you can then sort by dresses, pants, shoes etc…
Kay Unger Jacquard dress, Halston silk blend jersey dress, Elie Tahari embroidered dress.
I love all these dresses, but this black Halston silk jersey blend is such a great staple if you’re looking to up-level or add a simple black dress to your wardrobe. Of course I’m fascinated with the brand after seeing the movie, Halston. The brand has had some major drama, and is now under the creative vision of Robert Rodriquez. I think he’s doing a great job of creating beautiful designs that flatter a women’s curves.
Rue La La is pretty amazing. Gilt and Rue La La are owned by the same company and are very similar. They carry SO MUCH merchandise and nearly every designer brand you can think of. There are some great bargains and they even carry previously owned items, similar to The RealReal. You can also find cosmetics and home items! Sorry not sorry for introducing you to this website if you didn’t already know about it.
PAIGE Genevieve Jeans, Hermes Evelyn Blue Epsom bag (perviously owned), Alice + Olivia Delora Mini Dress
These Paige Genevieve jeans are my favorite flare jeans - they have just enough stretch and just enough structure and the light wash is so fresh for Spring and Summer. I’m trying my hardest NOT to purchase this Hermes bag - it’s so perfect in every way. If it’s gone when you click on it, it may be because I couldn’t resist. And this Alice + Olivia dress is so perfect for travel and although it’s body con, the ruching is super forgiving.
Modsense is a little different. It’s a personal shopping assistant that helps find the products you love at the best prices across 500+ retail partners. Think of it like hotels.com for clothes. They have smart shopping tools where you can compare prices, get updates on your favorite designers, set sale alerts on specific products, curate your own wish lists, and earn points toward future purchases. Shoppers can easily filter products and link-search online, as well as scan barcodes in-store, to check for better prices and availability. Some of the site can be a little wonky at times and I find it a bit overwhelming - but if there’s an item you KNOW you are looking for, it might be worth checking it out.
Veronica Beard Leia Printed Maxi Dress, Saint Laurent Woven Leather Slides, Nili Lotan Gaia Chain Print Slim Blouse
A client recently purchased this Veronica Beard Dress for an upcoming wedding and it looks fantastic on. I still love these Saint Laurent slides with all my heart and Modsense is keeping an eye on them for me in black - I’m waiting for a certain price point. And this Nili Lotan blouse is timeless and perfect with black trousers.
When you shop for bargains make sure you don’t get caught in the trap of buying it simply because it’s a good price. Remember, everything in your closet should serve a purpose and make you look and feel great!
